Singers Wanted for a New Streaming Series

A Special Invitation from the Hackbarth Family

Selena Quintanilla, La Reina de la Musica Tejano

In the footsteps of Selena — the Grammy-winning Queen of Tejano Music who began in a family band and became one of the most influential Latin artists of all time.

Your Invitation to Audition

On behalf of our family, Dad and I would like to share a special invitation with everyone who works with us at our three Del Taco locations in Barstow, and with your families. If you are part of the Del Taco family of Barstow, we want your family to have the first opportunity to hear about this.

My Dad, Ed Hackbarth, is having a film made about the history of the three Original Del Taco locations he started in Barstow. Through that project we met the film's producers, Ed McGrath and Rich Faulkner, who have become good friends of Dad's and mine.

Ed and Rich are also producing an online streaming series called "Rambling Along Route 66," planned to begin next April. They are looking for four young people to become the stars of the series, and they would like to give someone from the Del Taco family a special opportunity to be considered.

Dad and I would be very proud if one of our own were selected to become a star in the series, earning a great deal for their family, with an opportunity bigger than American Idol.

Who Ed and Rich Are Looking For

What the Opportunity Includes

This is a special invitation to the Del Taco families of Barstow because of the friendship between our family and Ed and Rich. If your answers above are yes, they want to hear from you. Please share this with anyone in your family who may qualify and has dreamed of singing, traveling, performing, and doing something very different with their life.

Thanks for sharing.
Jerry Hackbarth

In the Footsteps of a Legend

Selena Quintanilla, La Reina de la Musica Tejano

Before she became known around the world, Selena — Selena Quintanilla — was a young singer from Texas, performing in family bands and dreaming of a bigger stage. She grew up speaking both English and Spanish, just like the young stars of "Rambling Along Route 66" will do.

In her short life she became "La Reina de la Musica Tejano," the Queen of Tejano music. She sold millions of records, won a Grammy in 1994, and became one of the most influential Latin artists of her time. Today she is remembered through the annual Selena Awards, the film starring Jennifer Lopez, and the young singers who still look to her as a model.

Selena started with a family band and grew into something much bigger. The four new stars will travel Route 66, perform along the way, and be seen by audiences across the country and beyond. This is your chance to start something.

If you or a member of your family are a young person between 21 and 30 who sings, speaks both English and Spanish, and has the heart of a performer, encourage them to follow in Selena's footsteps. Your next step is waiting at the bottom of this page.
